From Motopark
In 1977 Motopark (located off highway 6, north of Durham and south of Owen Sound) hosted a motorcycle festival for all interested in 2-wheeled enjoyment. The event participants included both the general riding public and dignitaries from the media and industry. It was decided too many years have passed without another and so the gates are opened June 12, 13, 2010 for more fun.
There is no admittance fee. Wander in and look over the scene and decide what you would like to try and pay upon sign-up. There will be rides for street bikes, dual sports, classic buffs, off road riding of all types and a swap meet, show and shine and vendors area. Dealers are encouraged to participate or display product.
Old time field games will involve both rider and passengers in low speed tests of skill and humility. The Relic Ride will see riders on bikes built before 1990 wheeze around the track and trails for bragging rights and prizes.
This festival is designed to amuse and involve the entire family. The facility snack bar will be open all day and a Saturday evening BBQ is planned. Rehearse your best story and win the Tall Tales contest!
Motopark has camping areas available for reservation and a paintball area should "old scores" need be settled.
Event participation within the park includes insurance coverage. Your bike does not require a plate or personal insurance for facility use. Dust off the cottage clunkers and barn bikes! Here is an event where the old bikes can shine. Only road events will require drivers license, plate and insurance.
So, come by for a couple of hours or the entire weekend. Join your friends in the fun of motorcycling.
